1. IPL 2008 Winner: Rajasthan

RoyalsRajasthan Royals was the winner of the IPL first season. Shane Warne was leading the team of well balanced and experienced players like Graeme Smith and Shane Watson. In the middle order, the explosive batsman Yusuf Pathan was making the batting lineup stronger. On the other hand, they had Sohail Tanvir making their bowing attack more powerful. Yousuf Pathan played a very crucial role in the final. He scored 56 runs from 39 balls and also took three wickets for his team.

2. IPL 2009 Winner: Deccan Chargers

The winners of the second season of the Indian Premier League was the Deccan Chargers led by Adam Gilchrist. Hitters like Young Rohit Sharma, Andrew Symonds, and Herschelle Gibbs were part of this great victory for Deccan Chargers in IPL winning history. Adam Gilchrist was the second-highest run-scorer with a total of 495 runs in 16 matches after Mathew Hayden.

In the IPL winning history, Chennai Super Kings became the first team to win this title back to back. This time Michael Hussey was the hero throughout the tournament. The opening partnership of 159 runs between Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey against Royal Challengers Banglore was the reason to defend a title.

5. IPL 2012 Winner: Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders were winners of the IPL 5th edition. KKR defeated the defending champions in the final. KKR was going to chase a score of 190 runs, which was not an easy task for KKR. With the help of Manvinder Bisla’s 89 runs from 48 balls, KKR able to snatch the match and the trophy. Even Suresh Raina’s 73 from 38 wasn’t enough to save the title.

Mumbai Indians skipper The Hitman, Rohit Sharma, celebrated his first glory by defeating Chennai Super Kings. Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, and Mitchell Johnson were part of the team’s playing XI throughout the tournament.

7. IPL 2014 Winner: Kolkata Knight Riders

After Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders was the second team to win the trophy more than once. Kolkata Knight Riders won the 2012 IPL final because of Manvinder Bisla, but Manish Pandey was the hero for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2014 final. Robin Uthappa from Kolkata Knight Riders was the orange cap holder for this tournament.

8. IPL 2015 Winner: Mumbai Indians

The third team to win the IPL trophy more than once was Mumbai Indians. Mumbai’s balanced batting lineup helped them to win the IPL trophy. Kieron Pollard, Rohit Sharma, Simmons, and Ambati Rayadu was carrying out the batting unit. Lasith Malinga was leading the bowling department. He took 24 wickets throughout the tournament but not able to get the purple cap.

9. IPL 2016 Winner: Sunrisers Hyderabad

10. IPL 2017 Winner: Mumbai Indians

To win the IPL trophy more than two times, Mumbai Indians became the 1st team in the IPL winning history. First, they won the IPL trophy in 2013 and then in 2015. Mumbai Indians managed to win the final against Rising Pune Supergiants by just one(1) run.

11. IPL 2018 Winner: Chennai Super Kings

The second team was Chennai Super Kings, who managed to win the IPL cup more than two times. Veterans Shane Watson and Ambati Rayadu was the backbone of the team and batting unit. Bowlers were lucky because the bowling attack was leading by captain cool and Dwayne Bravo.

12. IPL 2019 Winner: Mumbai Indians

One more time, Mumbai Indians captured the IPL trophy in 2019 by defeating CSK in the IPL final. Shardul Thakur failed to counter Malinga’s off-cutter and lost his wicket and lost the IPL 2019 title. Again Chennai Super Kings was the runner-up for the IPL cup.
